Police-BJP face off in Cuttack: Lathi charge resorted before Narasinghpur PS

Cuttack, Oct 22: Cuttack police resorted lathi charge on Friday to stop BJP activists rampaging into the police station at Narasinghpur. Sources said A number of BJP and BJD workers had faced off in the premises of Narasinghpur Court a few days ago. Police had settled it amicably after a long hot exchange among the members of the two parties. However, police picked up three BJP activists, Manoj Nayak, Ranjan Samantray, and Lipoy Baliarsing from Ratapat village late at night on Thursday. Reacting to it, BJP gheraoed Narasingpur police station on Friday. Meanwhile, agitation broke out at the spot when BJP activists faced off the police force deployed at the spot. In order to keep the situation under control, police resorted to lathi charges on the mob. Subsequently, one BJP activist along with three cops became critically injured. However, the concerned IIC denied to the public any comet regarding the issue.
