Bhubaneswar, Sept 30: Police have barricaded the road connecting Lok Seva Bhavan and the Assembly Gate in Bhubaneswar amid the 12-hour Odisha bandh being observed across the state today.
Only government employees carrying valid passes are being allowed through the barricaded stretch by the police. Other vehicles, including buses and private cars, are being diverted through the road near IG Park.
The statewide bandh is being observed from 6 am to 6 pm on Wednesday, September 30, following a call by the Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan and Naba Nirman Yuva Chhatra Sangathan over alleged errors in school textbooks.

Protestors are calling for the resignation of Odisha’s School and Mass Education Minister, Nityananda Gond, holding him accountable for the oversight. The movement saw major disruptions, including the blocking of a national highway, underlining the gravity of the situation and the level of public dissatisfaction with the state’s educational administration.
The police have stepped up traffic and security arrangements in and around the state government offices to regulate vehicular movement during the bandh.
