Poachers arrested in Mayurbhanj's Similipal Tiger Reserve

Karanjia, May 9: Forest officials have arrested two poachers and seized three country-made guns and belongings from their possession during patrolling in the core area of the Similipal Tiger Reserve in Mayurbhanj district. Two poachers were identified Lachaman Kandeyan and Sama Munduri, residents of Edelbeda and Kashibeda. The forest official said they were nabbed from the Kendumundi range here after a patrolling team traced them inside the forest. A pair of bow-arrow, trap, meat, and horns of Sambar deer were seized from them. A case under Section 9, 27, 31 and punishable by Act 51 with wildlife protection Act.1972 was registered and they will be produced in Court.
