Poacher nabbed red-handed while setting fire in jungle, arms seized

G.Udayagiri, Mar 19: Raikia forest outfit in Kandhamal district has caught a poacher red-handed while he was setting fire to poach wildlife inside Badamaha forest today. Forest sources said that a poacher, identified as Mitu Pradhan, was lighting fire inside Badamaha forest range under Raikia division to poach wildlife. However, forest guard Ajit Ganda and Bishnu Prasad Rath who were deployed to vigil wildfire nabbed him red-handed. They seized a country-made gun, live bullets, an axe, a sharp weapon and a mobile from Mitu’s possession. A case has been registered under wildlife Act. The accused will be produced before court, said Range Officer Sunil Sahu.
