Bargarh/New Delhi, June 24: PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bargarh has emerged as a Regional Winner in the prestigious 36th National Youth Parliament Competition 2025-26 organized by the Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

The school will be honoured with the Regional Winner Trophy at a special prize distribution ceremony to be held on June 25 at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium, Parliament Library Building, Parliament House Complex, New Delhi.

The award recognizes the outstanding performance of the students of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bargarh in the competition, which seeks to promote democratic values, self-discipline, and leadership qualities among young citizens.

The prize distribution function will be presided over by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, who will present awards to the winning students and schools for their meritorious achievements.

The National Youth Parliament Competition has been a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs for nearly four decades. During the 2025-26 academic year, the 36th edition of the competition witnessed participation from 200 Kendriya Vidyalayas across 25 regions of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan network throughout the country.

The Youth Parliament Scheme is designed to familiarize students with the functioning of parliamentary democracy and encourage them to develop qualities essential for responsible citizenship. Through simulated parliamentary proceedings, students learn the importance of self-discipline, tolerance of diverse viewpoints, constructive debate, and the democratic expression of opinions.

The programme also helps participants understand parliamentary procedures, discussion techniques, and the art of effective public speaking while nurturing confidence, leadership skills, and a spirit of civic engagement.

As part of the ceremony, students of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya, President Estate, New Delhi, which secured the first position nationally in the competition, will present a repeat performance of their award-winning Youth Parliament session before the distinguished gathering.
