PM Modi reviews major infra projects worth over Rs 62,000 cr

New Delhi, May 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired the PRAGATI meeting where major infrastructure projects were reviewed and emphasized on ensuring timely completion.

The PRAGATI meeting is an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation. The meeting involved both the central and state governments, and they reviewed projects worth over Rs 62,000 crore.

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, PM Modi shared the details of the meeting and said diverse sectors like roads, power, water resources, and semiconductors were discussed.0

“Chaired a PRAGATI meeting yesterday, where projects worth over Rs. 62,000 crore were reviewed, covering diverse sectors like roads, power, water resources, semiconductors and more. Emphasised on ensuring all infra projects are completed on time. Also deliberated on RERA-related grievances. It’s our Government’s priority to ensure justice for homebuyers,” he wrote.

In the meeting, PM Modi reviewed three big infrastructure projects, with a total cost of over Rs 62,000 crore. These projects cover Road Transport, Power, and Water Resources and are spread across different States and Union Territories.

“Emphasising the strategic importance of these projects, he called for concerted efforts to overcome implementation bottlenecks and ensure their timely completion,” mentioned a government media release.

He pointed out that project delays cause higher costs and prevent people from getting important services and infrastructure. He urged everyone involved to focus on being efficient and accountable, saying that finishing projects on time is key to getting the best results for society and the economy.

While reviewing complaints related to the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), the Prime Minister stressed the importance of addressing grievances quickly and effectively to ensure fairness for homebuyers.

PM Modi urged state governments to make sure all eligible real estate projects are registered under the RERA Act. The Prime Minister also highlighted that strict enforcement of RERA rules is crucial to rebuild trust in the housing market.

PM Modi looked into successful initiatives for developing the Semiconductor Ecosystem in India. He mentioned that these initiatives could serve as a model for others and encourage wider adoption across states and union territories, strengthening the National Semiconductor Mission.

As of the latest PRAGATI meetings, the government has reviewed 373 projects, with a total value of approximately Rs 20.64 lakh crore.
