New Delhi, July 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his three-nation visit to Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand on July 11 and departed for India after completing a landmark visit to New Zealand.

During the visit, India and New Zealand elevated their relationship to a Strategic Partnership and adopted the Roadmap to 2030, focusing on trade, defence, technology, education, innovation, tourism, and people-to-people ties. New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon personally saw off PM Modi at the airport in a special gesture.

The two countries announced 18 agreements covering defence, maritime security, counter-terrorism, disaster management, agriculture, tourism, food technology, and clean energy. PM Modi highlighted the goal of doubling bilateral trade by 2030 following the successful conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement earlier this year.

In Indonesia, PM Modi held talks with President Prabowo Subianto to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and jointly inaugurated the restored Prambanan Temple, highlighting shared cultural heritage.

In Australia, PM Modi met Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during the third Annual Leaders' Summit. The leaders signed a Joint Declaration on Defence and Security Cooperation, expanded collaboration in critical minerals, clean energy, and trade, and finalized arrangements for Australian uranium exports to India for peaceful use. Australia also announced that the BBL 2026- 27 season will begin in Chennai, marking the first-ever Big Bash League match outside Australia.

The Ministry of External Affairs described the visit as one that "deepened bonds, strengthened partnerships, and shaped a shared future," with significant outcomes across trade, security, technology, and regional cooperation.
