New Delhi, July 21:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday described the NEET paper leak as a "ghor paap" (grave sin) and assured that stringent action has been taken against those responsible to ensure that no one is allowed to jeopardize the future of the country's youth.

Addressing the issue for the first time since protests over the alleged irregularities intensified, the Prime Minister said tackling examination paper leaks requires a united effort by both the Centre and state governments. He stressed that the issue transcends political differences and should be treated as a matter of national interest.

Modi also urged NDA Members of Parliament to maintain close contact with the public, emphasizing the importance of engaging with people warmly and earning the confidence of young citizens.

His remarks came a day after thousands of protesters attempted to march to Parliament on the opening day of the Monsoon Session, over the NEET controversy. The protest, organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), was halted by police using barricades, batons, and tear gas.
