Baripada: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone as well as inaugurated a slew of projects worth more than Rs 4,500 crore during his visit to Baripada on Saturday at Government High School ground here. This was his second visit to Odisha within a fortnight. Modi last visited the State on December 24.
Modi launched projects like expansion of National Highways, new gas pipeline, doubling of railway tracks, a multi-modal logistics park in Balasore, conservation of the ancient Rasikaray temple and Haripurgarh fort in Mayurbhanj and new Passport Seva Kendras.
The Prime Minister also flagged off a new passenger train from Badampahad in Mayurbhanj district to Tatanagar in Jharkhand.
Union Ministers Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan, Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal and State Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Mallcik was present.
