Bhubaneswar, Jan 23: Remedial classes will be held in Dhenkanal and Ganjam on pilot basis to make up the losses of Standard X students due to Covid-19 pandemic. School and Mass Education department is going to launch such classes very soon.
As per the decision of the department, remedial classes will be arranged to boost up the weaker sections of students. Remedial classes can cater to the need of the average and below average students. It will be a healing therapy for the schools securing zero result in high school certificate examination.
Remedial classes will be arranged in Dhenkanal and Ganjam District as pilot project. Afterwards, it will be extended to Koraput, Nabrangpur and Gajapati districts.
In the first phase, mentoring system will be introduced to restructure classes. One teacher will teach a class of only 10 students.Besides,Sikshya Sambhab and Sikshya Sikhar programmes are to be implemented to work out excellence among students. The department will provide essential infrastructure to roll out the program soon, said School and Mass Education department officials.
