Bhubaneswar, May 12: The District Collector of Bargarh has suspended the Physical Education Teacher (PET) of Satlama High School over allegations of sexual harassment and fund misappropriation.

The district administration has recommended suspension of District Education Officer (DEO) and the Block Education Officer (BEO) to the state government.

PET teacher Sameer Panigrahi has been placed under suspension. Besides, a recommendation has been sent to the state government seeking suspension of the DEO and BEO linked to the case, said an official.

Earlier, Bargarh Police arrested three officials in connection with the allegations. Those arrested include District Education Officer Jyotikanti Sahu, Sadar Block Education Officer Surendra Sahu, and PET teacher Samir Panigrahi of Satlama High School.

The action followed a complaint filed by a woman Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRC) member from Bargarh Municipality, who accused the officials of sexual harassment and misappropriation of funds.
