Bhubaneswar, Jan 07: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today said Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a great opportunity to showcase the rich art, culture and heritage of Odisha to the world.
"The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is going to be celebrated in Bhubaneswar for three days from tomorrow to the 10th. Indians from all over the world are coming to Odisha. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a great opportunity to showcase the rich art, culture and heritage of Odisha to the world,” said the Chief Minister in a video message.
He said the Twin Cities have been completely cleaned and sanitized to provide a beautiful and harmonious experience.
“I request you to welcome the NRIs on this occasion and show them due respect. Let us all together make this Pravasi Bharatiya Divas a success and strive to ensure that the NRIs have the best experience of their lives in Odisha," he added.
The 18th PBD Convention will be held from 8 – 10 January 2025 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The theme of the 18th PBD Convention is "Diaspora's Contribution to a Viksit Bharat".
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the mega event while President Droupadi Murmu will attend the valedictory ceremony. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has already arrived in the city.
