Passing out parade of 291 SIs, seven DSPs held at Biju Patnaik State Police Academy

Bhubaneswar, Nov 18: The passing out parade of 5th batch of DSPs probationers and 10th batch of Cadet Sub-Inspectors was held today at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA). As many as 7 DSPs and 291 cadet SIs passed out of the Academy today for rendering public service. After being selected by OPSC, 7 cadet DSPs probationers reported their joining at BPSPA and underwent their basic course training from September 2019. After completion of their basic course training at BPSPA, they appeared in final examination. After their final examination they attended anti-extremist and tactics course of training at SOG, Chandaka. They did their field and practical training in different assigned districts. During the period, the probationers have been exposed to different state and central police organizations such as State Police Headquarters, Dept of Home Guards, Fire Services & Civil Defence, State Vigilance, PMT, Signal, CID, CB, STF, EOW, Police Commissionerate, Intelligence dept, State Forensic Science Laboratories, State Crime Records Bureau, IB, Bhubaneswar and CBI, Bhubaneswar. After being selected by Odisha Staff Selection Commission, 291 selected candidates reported their joining at BPSPA in May 2019 and underwent SIs basic course of training. During the period, the cadet officers were attached to different districts for law and order as well as police station exposure and learning inputs. They also did field and practical training in different districts. Apart from the faculty at BPSPA, the cadets have been exposed to a number of varied deliberations on relevant domains. Erudite scholars and experienced administrators from different fields have been invited by BPSPA to share their valuable knowledge in order to enhance the skills and cognitive ability of the trainee officers.
