Bhubaneswar: Parul Choudhary and Nischal Chand emerged girls and boys’ singles titles respectively in the Yonex Sunrise All India Junior Badminton Tournament, which concluded successfully at the Dalmia Bharat Gopichand Badminton High-Performance Centre (Shuttle) in Kalinga Stadium here on Saturday.

In the Girls' Singles final, Rajasthan's Parul Choudhary defeated Tamil Nadu's Diksha S.R. 20-18, 15-7 to lift the championship title. While in the Boys' Singles final witnessed a thrilling three-game contest, where Nischal Chand of Uttarakhand overcame Telangana's T. Gyan Dattu 12-15, 15-11, 17-15 to emerge champion.

In the Mixed Doubles final, the Chhattisgarh–Tamil Nadu pair of Divyansh Agrawal and Bhama Prabhu Anand edged past the Delhi–Uttarakhand duo of Yogans Singh and Anya Bisht 14-16, 15-13, 16-14 in a hard-fought three-game encounter.

The Girls' Doubles title went to Uttarakhand's Anya Bisht and Angel Punera, who defeated Karnataka's Deepak Raj Aditi and Ponnamma B.V. Vriddhi in straight games, 15-9, 15-9.

In the Boys' Doubles final, the Kerala–Delhi combination of Athis Srinivas P.V. and Yogans Singh rallied to beat Karnataka's Pawan S. and Punith S. 12-15, 15-11, 17-15 to claim the championship.

The winners and runners-up were felicitated with trophies, medals, certificates and cash prizes by Dr. Yedulla Vijay, Director, Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha, who attended as the chief guest. Among the dignitaries present were Ashok Kumar Panda, Special Secretary, Sports Department; Sudhakar Nayak, Additional Secretary Amit Kumar Nayak, Deputy Secretary Bibhuda Gadnayak, Deputy Secretary; and Nilin Kumar, Secretary of the Odisha State Badminton Association.

The tournament, which began on July 25, was successfully conducted with the efforts of Vice-President Pradeep Pattanayak and officials including Shailendra Choudhury, Jayaprakash Singh, Kamal Das, Surulal Matari, Manoranjan Panda, Jayaprakash Jena, Abhishek Biswas, Chandan Maharana, Deepak Mohanty, Pritpal Singh, Abdul Hakim, Shubham Nayak, Sandeep Mishra, and Manoranjan Das.
