Parking on these stretches of Bhubaneswar to attract penalty

Bhubaneswar, Nov 30: Commissionerate police has banned the parking of vehicles on four stretches in Saheed Nagar area. An order in this effect has been published by the Commissionerate Police on Wednesday. As per the order, the four stretches are IDBI Bank Square to Veterinary College via Empire Hotel, Alok Bharati building to Saheed Nagar Durga Puja Mandap at Janpath,  Janpath (Kalyan Jewelers) to Charka Medical Store via Sparsh Hospital and Trupti Service Station of Janpath to Saheed Nagar entry point. Police has advised public to park their vehicles on designated parking lots away from the main road. Violation of the order in an offence and punishable under section 177 of the MV Act-2019 and compoundable with fine of Rs 500. Violation of the order will also attract section 127 of the MV Act-2019 which authorizes a police officer having jurisdiction to tow a vehicle causing impediment to the flow of traffic and when such a vehicle is towed, the owner of the vehicle shall be responsible for all towing costs, besides any other penalty.
