Paralakhemundi ACF death case: Crime Branch traces fire-mark in his res

Paralakhemundi, July 22: The Crime Branch has traced fire-marks in the government residence of the deceased Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra on Thursday. Sources said a team of Crime Branch, which is conducting the investigation of Paralakhemundi ACF Soumya Ranjan’s suspicious death, left for Gajapati last night. They visited Soumya’s government quarter in the morning. Subsequently, they opened the room which was sealed by Gajapati Police, where Soumya had been allegedly recovered half-burnt. In course of the investigation, the team traced out fire stains inside the room. The door of the room was found to be partially burnt. Besides, police have spotted some half-burnt clothes on the floor. The circumstantial evidence revealed that the mishap had taken place inside the room. ACF Soumya Ranjan might have been charred inside it, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Crime Branch Bijay Kumar Mallik.
