Para-Olympian Pramod Bhagat to receive Khel Ratna Award-2021

Bhubaneswar, Nov 2: Odia Para-Olympian gold shuttler, Pramod Bhagat is going to receive the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award for the year 2021. Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports announced the National Sports Awards 2021, today. Bhagat is the first Sports star from Odisha who will receive the award among the 12 Sports persons this time. Similarly, Team India Hockey star from Odisha’s Sundargarh, Amit Rohidas and Birendra Lakra are among the 35 Sports persons to receive Arjuna Awards for their outstanding performance in the Tokyo Olympics. The awards will be conferred to the sports stars by the President of India at the Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 13. National Sports Awards are given every year to recognize and reward excellence in sports. Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award is given for the spectacular and most outstanding performance in the field of sports by a sportsperson over a period of four years.
