Bhubaneswar: Pleading ignorance in the poster controversy, Ollywood actor and comedian Tatwa Prakash Satpathy, popularly known as Papu Pom Pom today said that he was not aware about the poster.
The poster depicts that the actor holding ropes tied to the neck of seven girls starring in the movie, drawing flak online, with many demanding an unconditional apology from the actor, director Ramesh Rout and the production house. ‘Mr Kanhaiya’ is set to release on September 2.
“I am not aware who has done it as the poster has not been released by production house. I want to clarify that it is not my concept and I am not all involved in the poster release mater,” clarified the actor in a video shared on social media on Sunday following controversy over the poster.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anup Sahoo on Sunday said that a probe will be initiated to ascertain whether the poster was released from the set.
Notably, activist Linkan Subudhhi on Saturday filed the complaint with Mahila Police Station here.
Mahila police station officials registered a case against the company producing ‘Mr Kanhaiya’ – which stars actor Papu Pom Pom – for disrespecting women in the poster for the film.
