Bhubaneswar, June 22: The Panchayat elections are likely to get delayed in Odisha because the State government is yet to complete the delimitation and reservation exercise for the polls, informed Secretary, State Election Commission today.
“We have written to the State government asking it to complete the delimitation and reservation process for the conduct of Panchayat elections as per schedule. However, the government has not yet commenced the works raising apprehension of a delayed elections this time,” he added.
The tenure of elected representatives’ will end on March 10, 2022. So, the delimitation and reservation works should complete before the elections,” Secretary to State Election Commission said.
