Guwahati, May 4: At a time when the Pahalgam terrorists attack took place on April 22 wreaked an anti-Pakistan wave across the nation, as many as 39 Pak supporters were held in Assam on Sunday, for raising Anti-Indian slogan in public view.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, two more persons have been apprehended in Assam today for "defending Pakistan on Indian soil", taking the total number of arrested people to 39 since the Pahalgam terror attack last month.
The recently held accused persons are from Hojai and South Salmara-Mankachar districts, Sarma added.
Earlier, opposition AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam was arrested on sedition charges for allegedly defending Pakistan and its complicity in the Pahalgam terror attack.
Sarma affirmed stern action against the offenders who raised the 'Pakistan zindabad' slogan in the aftermath of the Jammu and Kashmir terror attack.
However, he urged the people to extend moral support to the PM, to fight terrorism from the nation.
