Over 150 two-wheelers gutted

Varanasi, Nov 30: Over 150 two-wheelers were gutted in a fire that broke out at a parking stand at Cantt railway station in Varanasi. However, no casualties were reported in the mishap, officials said on Saturday.

The incident took place on Friday night when the fire erupted near the platform one parking stand, police said.

According to Varanasi police, several vehicles were damaged in the fire. The flames were doused later in the day. Teams from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) along with the Fire Department rushed to the spot to douse the flames after hour-long effort.

One of the assistant loco pilots at the station, Ravi Ranjan Kumar said that his vehicle was also damaged in the fire who parked his vehicle here two days ago and went for his duty.
