Berhampur, July 10: In a major crackdown on corruption, the Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Pusha Munda, Chief Civil Supplies Officer (CCSO)-cum-District Manager of the Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd. (OSCSC), Ganjam, in an interception case involving unaccounted cash.
According to Vigilance officials, Munda was intercepted on NH-16 near Science College, Chhatrapur, while traveling from his rented residence towards Berhampur in his official Bolero vehicle. During the search, officers recovered ₹3 lakh in cash, suspected to be ill-gotten, which Munda failed to account for satisfactorily. The cash and the vehicle were subsequently seized.
Following the interception, simultaneous raids were carried out at his rented house in Chhatrapur, residential property in Bhawanipatna, and office chamber in Chhatrapur. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Munda and his family members own disproportionate assets, including:
- A three-storey building (approx. 5000 sq ft) in Bhawanipatna town
- One homestead plot in Bhawanipatna
- A massive land holding comprising 10 plots totaling 19 acres on the outskirts of Bhawanipatna, reportedly purchased in 2023
- Multiple vehicles, including a Suzuki Ciaz ZXI, two two-wheelers, and one benami two-wheeler registered in the name of a local rice miller
A case under Berhampur Vigilance PS Case No.11 dated 09.07.2025 has been registered under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Munda is being produced before the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur today.
The Odisha Vigilance Directorate, headquartered in Cuttack, continues further investigation into the matter, including the source of the unaccounted cash and the acquisition of the disproportionate assets.
