<strong>OSCPCR urges SME Minister for extension of school timings</strong>

Bhubaneswar, May 17: Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights(OSCPCR) on Tuesday urged the School and Mass Education(SME) Minister for extension of school timing. OSCPCR Chairperson, Sandhyabati Pradhan has written a letter to the SME Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash in this connection. In her letter Pradhan wrote, schools across the state are functioning from 6 Am to 9 AM in view of the heat waves from May 2.However, there is less possibility of completing the scheduled lessons and the targeted curriculum within the stipulated time. Thus, the school timing should be revised as 6 AM to 10 AM as soon as possible so that the courses will be covered up.At the same time, it will help students to digest and recapitulate their lessons easily, read the letter. However, the decision of the School and Mass Education Department is yet to be informed.
