OSCPCR recommends to reopen schools for Class VI-VIII students

Bhubaneswar, Aug 19: Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) on Thursday has recommended School and Mass Education Department to reopen Class VI, VII and VIII. Analysing the downward trend of Covid-19 infection in the state, the commission is in favour of physical classes for Class VI-VIII. The Commission has wrote letter to the Secretary,School and Mass Education Department in this connection. However, the School and Mass Education Department has not so far declared the date of reopening of schools for the primary and upper primary students due to the surging Covid cases among the children. Worth mentioning, physical classes for Class X and XII were resumed on July 26 while classroom teaching for Class IX was allowed from August 16 under strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.
