Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: The Orissa High Court is likely to pass a reasoned order on the All Odisha Fireworks Dealers' Association's request that is to allow the sale and use of green crackers in the State today. Accordingly, the Association along with two individual traders - Mahesh Store and Pramila Enterprises had moved the fresh petition earlier. The government had prohibited the sale and use of crackers during the festive season from October 1 to November 1. Moreover, the police on Sunday seized a huge cache of firecrackers from Nalabanta in the Aska area of the Ganjam district. Sources said the SRC has already discussed the matter with various stakeholders. The HC is likely to hear the matter at around 2 pm today.
