Cuttack, June 22: Bringing all the speculation related to the Srimandir Heritage Corridor project around Lord Jagannath temple in Puri to an end, the Orissa High Court today quashed all the petitions filed in connection with construction works undertaken by the Odisha government.
The court has junked all the Public Interest Litigation (PILs) along with other intervening petitions.
The court observed that there is no relevance of hearing the petitions after the directive of the Supreme Court.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had dismissed two petitions filed alleging illegal excavation and construction activities around the Jagannath Temple.
Terming the petitions as ‘frivolous’, the apex court dismissed the petitions with a cost of Rs 1 lakh each.
