Orissa High Court hears on Mamita Meher Murder case: Seeks investigation status from govt

Cuttack, Nov 18: The Orissa High Court has sought status report on Mamita Meher's murder case from the government on Thursday. A Division Bench issued orders in this connection after the first hearing on Mamita Meher’s murder case concluded in the afternoon. Hearing a petition filed by the family members of Mamita Meher, the Division Bench of the High Court issued notifications to the government to comply with the investigation status report, undertaken by police. At the same time, the next date for the hearing of the case has been scheduled on December 3, said the orders. Earlier on Tuesday, parents of the deceased lady teacher Mamita Meher had filed a time-bound petition in the High Court praying for early investigation into the case.
