Bhubaneswar, October 5: The Opposition today raised uproar in the Odisha assembly over the mining scam Raising the issue during the Zero Hour, Leader of Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik the mines mafia and government officials have looted crores. He has been writing to the state government for taking action against the guilty mines mafia and government officials, but the government is not acknowledging the receipt of his letters, let alone taking action, rued the Leader. Stating that the mines lease renewal has been causing loss to the state exchequer, Naik claimed that vigilance case was lodged against Serajuddin & Co. Case is also pending against Rungta company under MMDR Act. " How could their mining leases were renewed", asked the Opposition Leader. Supporting the issue, Congress Legislative Party leader, Narasingh Mishra. "The state exchequer has incurred a loss of tune to the tune of Rs 3600 crore in nine mines", he charged. However, the treasury bench members countered the Opposition allegation. Ruling BJD legislator Pratap Deb argued that the mines had been auctioned as per the guidelines of Supreme Court, Centre and the state government.
