Operation Clean: seven tainted officers expelled and two disqualified

Bhubaneswar, Jan 30 : Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expelled nine officers on the charge of corruption and inefficiency. He has ordered to dismiss seven corrupt babus from the government job and  disqualify two others for  inefficiency. The seven identified corrupt officers belong to departments like Mines, Forest & Environment Public Health and  Labour. They have been asked to go on compulsorily retirement. The tainted officers include Deputy Director of Mines Madan Mohan Biswal , Mining officer Ramesh Chandra Mahalik, Assistant Engineer of Sundargarh Public Health division Narayan Pradhan,Assistant Conservator of Forests Laxman Kumar Pradhan, Forest Ranger Bharat Kumar Ghadei, Rayagada District Labour Officer Pradip Kumar Bhoi, Joint Labour Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Sarat Kumar Choudhury and Divisional Labour Commissioner of Gajapati Namita Dash. All these officers have pending vigilance cases and misappropriation charges against them. So far, 113 tainted officers have been punished by the state government. This process is still on to eliminate corruption,said a key official of 5-T department.
