OPECA appeals to validate admission of non-JEE students

Bhubaneswar, April 18: Odisha Private Engineering College Association (OPECA) has appealed the state government to validate the admission of non-JEE students in B.Tech. OPECA Chairperson Binod Dash has written a letter to 5T Secretary VK Pandian in this connection. In his letter, he has asked the government to regularise the admission of 835 B.Tech students  those were taken up without qualifying the  Main Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) by virtue of the order of the Orissa High Court and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The letter also read these B. Tech students are now facing problems to appear the semester examinations. They have been debarred from appearing the first and third semester examination in the current academic session. As a result, the future of these students tangles amid uncertainty. Apart from it, Dash appealed to generalise the rule of admitting non-JEE students into B. Tech courses in order to fill up the vacant seats in the engineering colleges.
