One arrested, two minors held for extorting money posing as Maoists in Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna, Feb 16: One person has been arrested and two minor boys detained for allegedly trying to extort money from a liquor shop owner posing as Maoists in Kalahandi district, said police on Tuesday. They had demanded Rs 20,000 from the businessman opposing liquor selling in the area. They had threatened the businessman with dire consequences to deposit the money within 24 hours putting up posters mentioning a bank account number. The businessman deposited the said amount in the bank account mentioned in the posters and informed the police. Madanpur Rampur police launched a probe and took the trio into custody. Two of them were found to be minor.
