Bhubaneswar, May 19: At a time while the entire state is kept under lockdown and only essential shops are allowed to remain open within the permitted timings, some non-essential stores were seen open during the lockdown flouting guidelines. Such example has been witnessed at Chandrasekharpur area in Bhubaneswar where a Omfed stall in was doing business during the restricted period, thanks to police inaction. Sources said, an Omfed booth infront of Buddha Park at Chandrasekharpur is selling products from morning till night. It has been observed that the Omfed booth owner is running his business through a secret hole of the shop. Many people are also gathering at the place for tea and soft drink. The important thing is that all these are happening with the knowledge of the local police. For an instance, a PCR van arrived Omfed shop on Tuesday evening and warned the shopkeeper for opening the shop amid lockdown. When the police officials tried to shut the shop, the shopkeeper gave some groceries as bribe to the officials following which they left the spot.
