OMC Chief Reviews Key Chrome Mining Operations
Shri Sudhansu Mohan Samal, the new Managing Director of Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), recently completed a detailed review of the company's vital Chrome Zone operations in Jajpur district. The visit was accompanied by Director (Operations) Shri Sabyasachi Mohanty, Director (HR) Shri Alok Kumar Pal and Director (Finance) Shri Bana Bihari Pani—along with sectional heads and staff of the JK Road Mining Region. The visit was aimed at assessing current operations and setting the direction for future growth and sustainability.
Focus on Operational Excellence
During his inspection of key sites, including the South Kaliapani and Sukrangi mines, the MD focused on improving efficiency and transparency. He instructed the regional teams to strengthen automation in the production and dispatch of ore. Shri Samal also emphasized the need for strict adherence to all legal and safety regulations to ensure operational excellence.
Strategic Vision for Sustainability and Growth
The visit also included a review of OMC’s Ferro-Chrome Plant. Here, the MD outlined a forward-looking strategy for the company. He highlighted the importance of business diversification, the adoption of renewable energy solutions like solar power, and conducting large-scale plantation drives to enhance environmental sustainability.
Shri Samal commended the collective efforts of the local teams. He urged them to maintain a proactive approach towards innovation, safety, and environmental responsibility, keeping all actions aligned with OMC’s long-term vision for growth in the sector.
