Bhubaneswar, Dec 14: The sixth edition of the ‘Odisha Eco-Retreat’ officially began on Friday at the picturesque Kushabhadra river mouth near Ramachandi Pitha in Konark. The event was inaugurated by Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida, marking the start of a 90-day celebration of nature and adventure.

This year’s Eco-Retreat promises an unforgettable experience with 70 premium cottages offering spacious accommodations complete with comfortable bedding, porches, and attached bathrooms. The retreat invites visitors to connect with nature while enjoying the serene beaches, exploring the Balukhand Sanctuary, and marveling at the architectural brilliance of Konark’s Sun Temple.

Guests can indulge in a variety of exciting water sports, recreational activities, and vibrant cultural evenings. The Eco-Retreat showcases Odisha’s rich biodiversity and offers a unique way to explore the state’s natural beauty in a luxurious setting.

Deputy Chief Minister Parida highlighted the tremendous tourism potential of the event, hoping to attract an increasing number of overseas Indians (Pravasi Bharatiya) in the coming years. She also emphasized that similar Eco-Retreats are being held at other scenic locations across Odisha, including Bhitarkanika, Daringbadi, and Satkosia, under the aegis of the state’s Tourism Department.

This year’s event is set to be a major draw for both domestic and international tourists, helping Odisha shine as a premier eco-tourism destination.
