Koraput, Oct 9: In a horrific incident, a woman was burnt alive after a fire broke out in her quarters at the OMP Colony in Odisha’s Koraput last night.
Though the exact cause behind the fire is yet to be ascertained, preliminary reports suggest the blaze might have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
While the woman sadly could not be saved, her family members—including her mother-in-law, son, grandson, and granddaughter—managed to escape the flames with their lives.
Upon getting the information, police along with fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The cops then seized the deceased woman’s body and sent it for post-mortem.
The incident has deeply shaken the local community, sparking an outpouring of grief and anger from residents.
