Bhubaneswar, May 17: Odisha has decided to cover the widows and orphan children of Covid-19 victims under the Madhubabu Pension Yojana, announced Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during an all-party meeting held today.
The children will also get free education facilities. “Covid has devastated many families in the State. We intend to provide a healing touch to such Covid affected families by continuing to cover the widows and orphan children under the Madhubabu Pension Yojana. The children will also get free education facilities,” the CM said.
The all-party meeting, called by Odisha Assembly Speaker Surjyo Narayan Patro, today the stock of the Covid-19 situation and discussed a strategy for Covid-19 management in the state.
The meeting chaired by Speaker Patro was addressed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Deputy Leader of Opposition Bishu Charan Sethi, Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Arukha. At the end, Health Minister Naba Kishore Das gave concluding remark and proposed vote of thanks.
