Bhubaneswar, May 19:The Odisha Vigilance Department on Tuesday uncovered a significant cache of assets, including four multi-storey buildings, 33 plots, a farmhouse, and a market complex, belonging to a government engineer, officials confirmed.

The action followed a complaint alleging that the Assistant Executive Engineer (AAE) of the R&B (Roads & Buildings) Division in Bhawanipatna held assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Vigilance officials conducted raids across six locations earlier today.

Preliminary investigations revealed the possession of four multi-storey buildings, a market complex, a nine-acre farmhouse near Bhawanipatna town, and 33 plots spanning a total of 39.64 acres located on the outskirts of Bhawanipatna and Koksara in Kalahandi district.

The department is continuing its probe into the matter to determine the full extent of the assets and potential violations.
