Berhampur, Mar 21: Odisha Vigilance today arrested the Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) of Radhadeipur Gram Panchayat under Sanakhemundi block in Ganjam district on charges of embezzling government funds amounting to Rs 43.01 lakh.

The arrested PEO has been identified as Khetramohan Nayak.

According to the investigation, Nayak, who started his government job in July 2024, misused funds from different accounts like CFC, SFC, PDS, and OAP.

He took advantage of his position and forged the Sarpanch's signature to steal money. Reports suggest he spent the stolen funds on cricket betting and gaming apps.

A case (No. 03/2025) has been registered against Nayak under various sections of the PC Act, 1988 by the Berhampur Vigilance.

Further investigation into the matter was underway.
