Odisha Vigilance apprehends Assistant Record Keeper for taking Rs 3k bribe

Keonjhar, Aug 6: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday apprehended an Assistant Record Keeper of Land Settlement Office in Keonjhar district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000.

The accused has been identified as Hadibandhu Behera.

As per reports, Behera had demanded the sum in exchange for providing an Amin report to an individual.

Left with no option, the complainant reached out to the Vigilance authorities, leading to a swift and coordinated operation. Based on the information, Vigilance officers laid a trap and nabbed Behera while taking the bribe of Rs 3,000. The entire bribe money has been recovered from his possession and seized.

Following the apprehension, the Vigilance officials launched simultaneous searches at some locations associated with Behera to investigate the Disproportionate Asset (DA) angle.
