Keonjhar, May 9: In a tragic incident, at least two persons were killed after the bike they were travelling on hit a moving truck from behind in Odisha's Keonjhar district on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Santosh Kumar Mahakud (35) and Deepak Kumar Mahakud (30).
According to sources, the mishap has been reported from near Greenfield School on NH 20 under Sadar police limits in the district.
As per reports, Santosh and Deepak were traveling from Jhumpura Bazaar to Palaspanga on a bike when they lost control and the ill-fated crashed into a moving truck from behind.
The crash was so severe that both of them were thrown off the bike and died on the spot.
Upon getting information, Sadar police arrived at the spot and took stock of the situation.
The cops recovered the bodies and sent them to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for postmortem.
A case has been registered and investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of death, said the police.
