Odisha Tribal Museum showcases terrace farming of Lanjia Sauras

Bhubaneswar, May 16: Odisha Tribal Museum today showcased traditional farming of the Lanjia Souras. As the state museum is shut for the pandemic,the visitors are being entertained by various livelihood programmes of the tribal resources online. Accordingly, the ancient agriculture mechanism adopted by the Lanjia Saura hill tribes has been demonstrated to the virtual viewers. The show included the tribal practices for containing hill water through terraces, use of typical seeds and crops, rain water harvest and use of organic fertilizer for satisfactory yield. A long row of programmes on the ancient tribal community of Odisha is to be showcased among the visitors amid the shutdown. Visitors can take advantage of it through the virtual link of the museum, said the Director of the SC&ST Research and Training Centre ( SCSTRTI) Dr. Akhila Bihari Ota.
