Bhubaneswar, November 9: Odisha’s tourism sector is set to gain a fresh impetus with new infrastructure development, announced Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida following her recent visit to London.
Parida emphasized that the state's cultural heritage and natural beauty have caught the attention of potential investors, sparking enthusiasm for Odisha's tourism prospects.
Highlighting Odisha's strong showing at the World Tourism Mart in London, where 14 Indian states participated, Parida noted, “Our presence was very well received. Numerous investors are eager to invest in Odisha’s tourism, aiming to promote our arts and culture.”
Parida held three rounds of meetings with the Indian diaspora in London, particularly those connected to Odisha’s tourism industry, and discussed ways to collaborate on upcoming projects.
During her visit, she met with 90-year-old artist Prafulla Mohanty, a prominent figure representing Odisha’s culture abroad. Parida also engaged with multiple tourism investors, including Pramod Mittal, a well-known Indian businessman with roots in Odisha. “Investors like Mittal are keen on contributing to Odisha’s tourism, and many of them are expected to visit Odisha soon,” Parida shared, highlighting the promising prospects for collaborative investments.
