Bhubaneswar, June 15: In a significant relief for students and parents, the Odisha government on Monday announced that all schools in the state, including government and private institutions, will reopen for students of Classes 1 to 12 from Thursday, June 18.
The decision comes in view of the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast indicating a likely easing of the intense heatwave conditions that had led to the earlier closure of schools.
School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond officially made the announcement, confirming the resumption of regular academic activities across the state.
However, the government has also stated that it is closely monitoring the weather situation. If the heatwave conditions intensify again, authorities may reconsider and extend the vacation period to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
