Bhubaneswar, June 8: The Odisha Housing & Urban Development Department will launch a statewide“Saharanchala Janasamparka O Nagarika Bhagidari Karyakrama”across all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) from June 9 to June 21, 2026.
The 13-day campaign aims to strengthen citizen participation in urban governance by creating awareness about civic services, government schemes, sanitation, waste management, water conservation, and environmental sustainability. Various activities, including awareness rallies, ward-level meetings, public consultations, Swachhata drives, and community engagement programmes, will be organised.
Citizen Service Delivery Camps will also be held to help residents access municipal services such as property tax, water connections, trade licences, building approvals, and housing schemes, along with grievance redressal support.
Housing & Urban Development Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra said the initiative will help bridge the gap between citizens and urban institutions, making governance more transparent, accessible, and accountable. The campaign will conclude with citizen feedback sessions to improve urban service delivery and promote participatory governance across Odisha.
