Odisha to hire empty medical oxygen cylinders from private organisations

Bhubaneswar, May 7: In a bid to maintain adequate stock of medical oxygen for treatment of Covid-19 patients, the State government has decided to hire empty cylinders from private organization. The government has fixed Rs 700 as hiring charge of each B-type cylinder while it will pay Rs 1000 for each D-type cylinder. Besides the government will also compensate for cylinders in case of any damage. Earlier the State government has asked the Centre for 30,000 oxygen cylinders. Odisha on Thursday reported another single-day high of 12,238 Covid-19 cases. With the detection of fresh cases, the total caseload now stands at 5,12,400 with 86,950 active cases. ,
