Bhubaneswar, June 25: Odisha will begin serological survey for Covid-19 with rapid antibody tests in Puri on Saturday.
Health officials said that the survey will be done in Ganjam, Gajapati, Bhubaneswar and Baramba-Narasinghpur in the first week of July.
The serological survey, a random test of people is conducted to assess if they have in the past been infected by the coronavirus.
Serological tests allows doctors to determine if a person has previously had a viral infection, based on the presence of antibodies in the blood, possibly even if they were asymptomatic.
The number of Covid-19 positive cases in Odisha has reached 5962 with detection of 210 new cases in last 24 hours.
