Bhubaneswar, July 23: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Sunday said that the third installment of financial assistance under the ‘Subhadra Yojana’ will be released on August 9, coinciding with sacred occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
Taking to her official ‘X’ handle, Parida wrote, “On the sacred occasion of Raksha Bandhan on August 9, 1 crore 2 lakh 40 thousand Subhadra sisters will receive gifts from Chief Minister Mohan Majhi.”
Parida added that the third installment funds will be released from Jeypore in Koraput district by CM Majhi. Eligible beneficiaries will have the funds directly credited to their bank accounts.
She added that before the release of funds, she would visit Kotia in Koraput to review the enrolment process for the scheme and ensure that every Odia resident of Kotia receives their Subhadra installment.
“Around 1.88 lakh people have not yet been included in the scheme due to certain obstacles. The government will bring them in gradually, in phases. Those who become eligible will receive the assistance on August 9, while those still excluded will also be covered in phases and will receive all three installments on March 8, 2026,” she added.
It is worth noting that ‘Subhadra Yojana’ is a flagship program of the state government wherein Rs 10,000 is given annually to eligible beneficiaries in two phases – on Women’s Day and Raksha Bandhan.
