Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: Odisha Health Department Director Bijay Panigrahi on Friday informed that the State has targeted to complete the vaccination by the end of December 2021.
Speaking to the media, Panigrahi said that the State has already registered 2.20 crore vaccinations till Tuesday.
The first dose has been taken by 1.66 lakh people while the second dose has been taken by 53 lakh people. A total of 54% of the first dose was given. A total of 28.54 lakh of Covishield and 4.54 lakh of Covaxin are present till date.
“We have an abundant supply of vaccination. The Centre is in contact with us and they are providing us vaccines as per our requirement,” Panigrahi added.
The vaccinations drive emphasis on the teachers and those who will receive the second dose of vaccination. The vaccination drive has now been conducted at 1400 centres. At least 1 lakh pregnant woman has already been taken the vaccination so far.
