Bhubaneswar: Odisha sub junior girls suffered back to back defeat in the Odisha Sub-Junior Girls Team played its second match in the Sub-Junior Girls' National Football Championship 2025–26 on Saturday, as they lost to West Bengal by 7-1 goals at Bapuji Stadium, Mariani.
West Bengal dominated from the beginning of the match, Shreyashree Bhakta opened the account for West Bengal in the first minute of the play and Sudipta Mandal doubled the lead in the 40th minute. Odisha’s forward Niruta Baraghare scored the solitary goal for the State in the 45+1 minute and the first-half scoreboard read as 2-1 in favour of West Bengal.
After the change of sides, West Bengal shattered the Odisha defenders and netted four goals. Sudipta Haldar 63rd min, Jue Mandal 66th min, Nasima Mandal 84th min and Sayani Chakraborty 86th min scored a goal each and took away the match from Odisha.
