Bhubaneswar: The Puri district emerged as the champion, securing 17 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze medals and the Khurda district finished as runners-up, winning 11 gold, 13 silver, and 7 bronze medals in the Odisha State Para Athletics Championship 2025–26, which concluded here at Kalinga Stadium on Sunday.
The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 400 para athletes representing all districts of the State.
The event was graced by the presence of Amit Kumar Nayak, Deputy Secretary, Sports and Youth Services, Department Government of Odisha as the Chief Guest, along with Manoj Kumar Tripathy as the guest of honour, who encouraged the athletes and appreciated their performances.
Athletes who delivered outstanding performances during the championship will be selected to represent the State in the upcoming 24th National Para Athletics Championship 2025-26.
At the conclusion of the event, the President Kamalakanta Rath, and Secretary, Sunil Pradhan, of Para Sports Association of Odisha, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the para athletes, technical officials, volunteers, and parents for their cooperation and contribution towards the successful conduct of the championship.
